44.1. NuScale vs. NuCon.US discussion…

On November 30, 2012, in SMR, Разное, by admin

I have been actively analyzing and criticizing the technical and other design solutions in SMR, especially, but not only the NuScale reactor and power plant project. My opinion being presented not only in SMR LinkedIn group but here in NuCon.US also and my own professional experience. Naturally, using open sources as references, with sources named below of each article. In particular, from the NuScale website, DOE etc. And yesterday I received a notification from so-called NuScale lower, and he is asking to remove pictures and the copy of presentations pages from some articles on NuCon.US blog, which related to NuScale source and the fact that I do not use them as I would like to the owner. Surprise-surprise…

Rather, they were waiting for praise and admiration, and they are not. Did I really break the law (DMCA) or it is a struggle with criticism? As an option, I consider excessive zeal of not smart people. Respond to criticism they do not want me to have too shallow, and the attempt to ban criticism is. By the way, this (same) message being instantly removed from the Platt’s SMR group in LinkedIn and I wonder why? Which reason? What is wrong here? Any thought? Just because NuSclae is Platt Conference sponsor.

Sure… I will change all NuScale pictures in NuCon.US blog on the special note, temporary before I try to solve this problem. Probably, NuScale has nothing to do with design or do not have the capability, and they have a lot of time for this kind of activities. And looks like they are attacking me personally. Let’s see… I did find my personal images on NuScale website and did send them my letter as an answer. Do I need fight back? Just for fun I sent them this letter, and will present here the letter from NuScale:

Copy of comment from Mr. Jim Carter (LinkedIN)

Alex, Do you really believe that you know ALL the details of the NuScale design? How is it that you know the proprietary issues and solutions? What is the basis of your opinion…very limited public information and unfounded assumptions. What are you…a politician or a used car salesman?
You say that there are problems that have not been solved, but you don’t give details or explain (at least not in the small amount of muck that I read). If you know anything, (ANYTHING AT ALL) about designing and developing new technology, you would understand that problems arise and are solved. You would also understand that entreprpeneurs put it on the line because they believe in a technology and they are committed to overcoming any barriers. Hats off to NuScale and all entrepreneurs!!!
By the way, in any competitive business, the developing company must protect its proprietary interest. What part of that don’t you understand? Your ranting is imature and unprofessional. Get over it!!!

My response copy to Mr. Carter:

No. I do not believe. I am doing my analysis just based on few (very simple and reliable) things:
      * open (and my own) sources from NuScale design
      * understanding of basic and simple scientific principles
      * my own experience and skills.
And my opinion it is just my professional opinion. It is first.

And I am pretty sure, I know about NPP with this kind of reactor much more them you are can image. Just in case, I was in operating team for very similar reactor and power plant 25 years ago. Before NuScale being born. And probably, NuSclae will get close in few years (not sure). Specially in operating and safety. I just can say… I know about this kind of design much more them probably all NuScale designers together.
And actually… you are not only have no professional skills in subject. You are just regular bureaucrat and probably, just probably had some skills in the past, long long time ago. Today you are not engineer. Do you know is it personal? Yes it is. Because some person from your business insulted me personally. You try to do it again? Indifferently… I have at least 20-30 supporting opinion including from my very experienced colleagues from past life and today. And you opinion not interesting for me.

Take it easy. NuScale/crap not interesting to me more them just project. At least till NuScale can solve multiple technical problems and we can see something really new. If they can do it of cause.

Have fun… And what I am interesting, what kind of (technical) opinion I have, is not actually your … business.

P.S. Scroll to a specialist who can challenge my words and conclusions. We will discuss. And if he convinced me, I’ll present a public apology. More other, I will translate all for my friends. But have no subject for discussion with you, only between experts.
